Christian dating temptation
Several times in Scripture it is recorded that Jesus went away to pray. It was not only vital to His ministry but also to His life on this earth.
Men, I’m sorry to tell you, if Jesus had to do it…so do you.
Don’t sit around waiting for a boy to make you a priority, communicate his intentions, or even call you on the phone. And this God created and rules his world, including men, women, the biological compulsions that bind them together, and the institution that declares their union and keeps it sacred and safe.
Girls, stop expecting guys to make any formal attempt at winning your affections.
Accomplishment, prestige, power and notoriety are among the top idols that men face in the world.
It’s okay to attain these, but if these are in the space (your full devotion) meant to be occupied by God, it can bring trouble. In fact, Jesus named money as one of the main competitors to serving God.
Those who recklessly give themselves to a love life of dating without really dating, of romantic rendezvouses without Christ and commitment, are settling. With this “more,” we can say to the watching world, Don’t settle for artificial and thin loyalty, affection, security, and sexual experimentation when God intends and promises so much more through a Christian union. When your heart responds to these idols instead of the will of God, you become a pawn in the enemy’s territory. Men can be tempted to earn more or borrow more money than what they need. Thus putting important things on the shelf such as: family, quiet time with God and overall quality of life. Ask God to give you temperance in this area so that you would live debt-free with Jesus alone as master. Many Christian men apply a “get rich quick” mentality to their walk with God and it simply doesn’t work.Wisdom, diligence, enduring faithfulness and commitment are what produce success and like the ‘farming principle’ this is usually cultivated with time, not quickly. To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God,” (Micah 6:8).
