The problem is that when I push the state I have a state-change listener which is triggered and uses the state URL to call yiigridview.update itself (as the state could be changed as well by clicking back-forward buttons on the browser for example), while for clicks that do sorting, filtering, etc actually just have to log the url as new state.

So it would be very useful if I could use the before Ajax Update callback to stop yii from calling the $.ajax(options).

can you somehow check that before and not call the update itself ?
