Ajax updating a gridview with jquery
The problem is that when I push the state I have a state-change listener which is triggered and uses the state URL to call yiigridview.update itself (as the state could be changed as well by clicking back-forward buttons on the browser for example), while for clicks that do sorting, filtering, etc actually just have to log the url as new state.
So it would be very useful if I could use the before Ajax Update callback to stop yii from calling the $.ajax(options).

can you somehow check that before and not call the update itself ?
The purpose of j Query is to make it much easier to use Java Script on your website.

The name of the view should be the same as the one used in the The idea here is to reload the partial view on the page when the user selects a different category from the drop down list.
